Project Overview
Our client, a leading global energy technology company, is looking for a Senior VMware / Windows Automation Consultant with proven OT experience to support an enterprise infrastructure team in Denmark.
The client is currently migrating its virtualization environment from VMware to Proxmox. Until the migration is completed, the consultant will be responsible for keeping the existing VMware-based Windows/OT environment stable, secure, and operational, including ongoing maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot the existing enterprise VMware environment (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) supporting Windows and OT workloads.
- Perform Windows Server administration, patching, updates, maintenance, and lifecycle activities across the VMware/OT infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across compute, storage, networking, Windows OS, VMware, and OT layers.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell-based automation for infrastructure administration, maintenance, and operational processes.
- Support the platform engineering team with technical expertise, documentation, best practices, and the ongoing transition from VMware to Proxmox.
Anforderungen:
must-have:
-Senior-level experience in Windows Server administration within large-scale enterprise environments.
-Deep hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, combined with strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure layers.
-Proven OT (Operationak Technology) experience, ideally supporting industrial/production environments where availability and operational stability are critical.
-Strong PowerShell skills and solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Windows infrastructure services.
nice-to-have:
-Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.
-Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
-Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments or cloud migration projects.
-Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
-Knowledge of security hardening and compliance frameworks.
